Summary
In the early glow of a new friendship, Sanemi and Giyuu swear an oath at Oyakata-sama's grave to honor their fallen Pillars by fulfilling their training. Over the grueling months that follow that glow begins to fade, and navigating a friendship weighed with trauma and limited by their marks proves to be almost as difficult as the training itself.
Like any good friendship this fic comes with fun and emotion, but with these two Former Pillars it also comes with a good dose of awkwardness. Many of the other Pillars join in spirit, while other surviving cast members would rather stop these two before they hurt themselves with this absurd training venture.

Summary
When Tanjiro is trying desperately to cut the boulder so that he can be sent to the final selection, a boy with long black hair pulled back in a ponytail and a white fox mask on the side of his face attacks him with a wooden sword. The boy tells him how he wouldn't be able to cut the boulder how he is now before knocking him out. When Tanjiro awakes, he's greeted by a girl with short white hair and a fox mask similar to the mystery boys. She tells him that her name is Makomo, and that the boy he met earlier in the day was named Giyuu. Together, the two plan to help prepare him for the final selection.
Or: Instead of Sabito dying, Giyuu takes his place. As a result, it's Giyuu and Makomo who prepare Tanjiro for the final selection.

[Background: I rewrote 'Kimetsu no Yaiba', an anime/manga series created by Koyoharu Gotouge, because I was bored. Also, disclaimer: I suck, like, *really* bad at summarizing - so, for now, the description of the story will simply be explaining the events that transpire in the prologue.]
Tomioka was too late to save Tanjirou from Nezuko, and for that; he becomes a mindless, ravenous beast - only, he doesn't?

A feral Nezuko manages to transform Tanjirou into a demon before she is slaughtered by Tomioka. However, by some miracle, Tanjirou manages to resist his cannibalistic urges and even serves as an ally to the Demon Slayer Corps. The only catch? Tanjirou, similar to a certain mist pillar, cannot remember a single detail about himself or his life.
